'Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?'
2 Cor. 6 : 14

The present church believes that in order to reach out the world for Christ, we must be like the world. However, the Word of God makes no statement about that. We have to check our own motives and set our desires alright, for in many cases, we manipulated God's Word to excuse us for our own desires. Many wanting to enjoy the pleasures of the world used reaching the lost for Christ as a reason for conforming to the world. Thus, the Christian and the world has no difference and we can then easily reach out to them. We do not want to be different from the world for fear of rejection by the world.

When I first believed the Lord as an teenager, rejection is one thing I constantly had to fight, because people do not hold the same conviction and lifestyle as I do. In order to live for God, we have to put other's opinion about us aside. Then, we can truly reach out to other's with our holy lifestyle.

The church's doctrine of lifestyle evangelism should not be living a life of worldliness and trying to evangelise to people so that we don't look too holy for others to accept. We must renew our mind and trust God to save and still deliver and not our own strength.
