Expressions "Love in deeds, not in words."

WE know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up but love edifies. I urge you, because of the crisis and troubles now, we should uphold one another in prayer and show our love in action. Help the ones who are in need, yes, do not witheld your hands toward them.

Give generously to those who have need and God will bless you with more. Don't be stingy. The coveteousness in the hearts and minds of the people has refrain them from giving and robbing their own blessings and joy.

Be a blessing in God's Kingdom!

Expressions It is ironic that the Third World Christians should be praying for us in the First World instead. We always think we are blessed and so we are now reaching out to the poor unsaved in the Third World. Why ?

Let us hear some comments from pastors and believers in the Third World.

One Iranian Christian leader who lives in the US said, "It is more difficult to be a Christian in the USA than in Iran. There, you are either a Christian or not !"

One pastor in Southern China said, "We have physical persecution but you have materialism. Your lot is harder because we know what we are spiritually fighting. Many times you don't."

Another church leader in China said, "Once you are chasing after money there is no time and energy for church affairs...And the government knows that materialism will destroy the church faster than persecution can...I tell my co-workers in China that the biggest enemy we're facing is no longer communism, it's materialism."

A Chinese believer who experienced much sufferring for her faith expressed it this way "We are constantly reminded that we are in a spiritual warfare. We know whom we are fighting for. We know who the enemy is...Perhaps we should pray for you Christians outside China. In your leisure, in your affluence, in your freedom, sometimes you no longer realise that you are in a spiritual warfare."

Personally, I don't like to join prayer meetings here because I find no meaning similar to the following comment from an Ugandan pastor, " In Uganda, we read for hope and life...there is no time for arguments on theology...In Uganda, we pray with a deep sense of urgency...I refused to leave my knees until I was certain I had been in the presence of Christ...Now after a year in Philadelphia, the urgency is gone. When I prayed publicly, I was more concerned to be theologically correct than to be in God's prayers were no longer athe helpless cries of a child. More and more I found myself coming to God with vague requests for gifts I did not expect."

    Music and the Word

"Bring me a harpist..." said Elisha.

The relationship between praise and worship and the Word is like the Holy Spirit and a believer. Without the Spirit of God, a believer dies out in a relationship with God.
Thus, without the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God does not come alive in the hearts of His people.

    What does music do?
Prophet Elisha under the inspiration and leading of the music, brought forth a prophecy which helps to bring a victory for the King of Israel and Judah at that time.

Why does he need a musician?
Music inspires. It causes the prophet's spirit to be more sensitive and helps him to be more tune in to God.

    Have a blessed day!!!

Expressions Somehow or other, some of us have this stirring in our hearts of more things to come from God. You wanted to touch and see more of God's glory.

We need to continue to yield our hearts to Him.
Submit our plans in life to Him, to let Him take control.
Walk in purity of heart and spirit.
    Me too!

    Let's continue this work.

    God bless!

    Taking grace for granted

Expressions Many Christians live in a mindset of unconditional relationship from God. The relationship is not based on mutual love but of selfish personal gains. Whenever they need something from Him or in desperate times, then they cry out to Him. Worst still, some thought that God's grace is indispensable and continue to live in disobedience and sin. Thus making many of us, unfruitful.

If you know God, you will never want to take His love and grace for you for granted.
If you love Him, you will not want to hurt Him and do the same.

This is a time of chastening. If we are stubborn, we will continue to be stubborn. If we are willing, we shall be broken and bear greater fruits.

    Love you always,

    Revival and us

" O Lord... revive us once again, that Your people may rejoice in You."

    What hinders revival?
    - Disobedience
    - Unwillingness to conform to God's Word.
    - Pride etc

Revival is not just about having a good meeting or a good laughter (some may call it), it is the beginning of the change of heart on God's people, whether saved or unsaved. Till now, Singapore has never experience or touch the heart of God to touch others. We are merely busy planning programmes and events to draw people.

    Can Christians save people?
The answer is a clear "No". God is still the One in the Saving business. Revival and you has an important connection here.

If you don't seek God to revive you, how are you going to revive others?
If you live in sin, how is it that you can tell people to turn away from them?
Evangelism and Revival starts from the church. It starts from you...

    In God's love

    Revival and us

Expressions When revival comes, we will not be like what we are doing now. Why is it so? Coz most of us will be busy going after God's purpose and desires for us.

Man-made rules and restrictions restrict God's grace upon our lives. This does not mean that we totally forsake them, but that in promoting them, it gives little room for God's love and grace.

Unless the Spirit touches you, how can you in turn touch others thru Him?

In our busy schedules, probably only abt 10 -20% of it is led by the Spirit of God. The rest is just chasing after the wind for this world's goods.

Expressions With the advent of prosperity theology in the Mcdonaldised churches here and elsewhere in recent decades, hope in heaven has ceased to be of concern for obvious reasons (why should they when the present world is their oyster), unlike in the past centuries (and even in the epistles) where believers were constantly reminded of the glorious HOPE they had in Christ Jesus. Suffering and poverty were prevalent down the centuries till the affluent late 20th century.

    Break the bondages

Expressions What is holding you back from loving Him?

What is holding you back from loving others?

Bondages need not be like the obvious. It need not be smoking or drinking, but we can still be in bondage in our spirit.

Is your spirit bound by your desires and passions in life?

Oh... your spirit needs to break through from things or desires standing between you and God.

Don't keep pursuing your dreams! God is drawing you closer. He has more for you than you think or can receive.

Whatever is hindering us from a closer relationship and life in Him, is a personal bondage we need to breakthrough. Grace is always given to those who diligently seek Him...

    God bless!
