    Message Board Hi,

In Aug 2000, before the revamp of Agora, a Christian brother, RTC, posted the following references on the Antioch Message Board:

    1. The Problem of Wineskins by Howard A. Snyder
    2. Paul's Idea of Community by Robert Banks
    3. The Church Comes Home by Robert Banks
    4. When The Church Was Young by Ernest Loosley
    5. The Torch of the Testimony by John W. Kennedy
    6. Going to the Root by Christian Smith
    7. Rethinking the Wineskin by Frank A. Viola

Is there anybody out there with whom I may dialogue on the reality of this experience?

The Passion On Passion – still strong after all these years

Message Board How is it that a movie claiming to be the most realistic film made about a man and the events around him that occurred 2000 years ago can evoke such strong reactions, fear and resentment today?

“The Passion Of The Christ” claims to be a version closest to the truth, but again as in history, the suffering and death of Jesus creates such extreme passions for and against him and what he came for.

Expressions This commentary is about the accusation of Anti-Semitism against the movie "The Passion of The Christ". The accusation arises from the view that the movie portrays the Jews as the main culprit causing the death of Jesus. There is no doubt Mel Gibson did exercise artistic license in portraying Pontius Pilate as a just and fair ruler. In doing so, he is following a long line of illustrous European scholars and artists. After all, we have seen numerous paintings by great masters showing Jesus Christ as Caucasian with blonde hair and flowing silk robes while it is more likely that Jesus is of tanned complexion, black haired and dressed in linen in the attire of a travelling rabbi. Similarly, the movie shows the crucification as nailing through the palms while most modern scholars suggest that nailing through the wrist between the two bones of the forearm is the prevalent practice. Mel Gibson, like the artists before him, had chosen to fill in the details not specified in the Bible from his own imagination but whereever it is specifically written in the Bible, he stayed faithfully to the written word. The following is my interpretation of the situation.

    Love One Another

Expressions We have been commanded again and again to love one another. By this, we are known as His disciples. We must learn to love the weak, the poor, the elderly, the mentally challenged in our midst.

So if we are placed initially in any church with wide diversity including the less endowed brothers and sisters, we should be grateful for the opportunity to love and to be loved with all our inadequacies.

Help Needed! While it does not need to take a Christian to teach your child/children, I am nevertheless a committed Christian and an experienced full-time NUS graduate tutor. A former student of RI and RJ with sterling results in these subjects, I have taught in many capacities both in schools as well as institutions, polys and tuition centres. I am committed to see students through their examinations for the year and teach using problem solving techniques which are customised to the needs of students. Here’s some of the my perspectives on learning the Sciences and Maths.
In Sciences, students need to be shown the relevance of the physical world around them in their daily experiences and how to interact with these knowledge before true absorption takes place. Pure rote memorising of facts for examinations will not only be unfruitful but pointless.
In Mathematics, students should be shown how the principles and rules of Mathematics are applied in problems so that they will see how to use principles and laws of Mathematics in subsequently different problems in exams or test. Showing purely the solution to particular Maths problem is not only fruitless but irresponsible.

Expressions Well, let mi start this whole discussion by saying tt im writing this to see whether if there is any christians out there first kaes? Im now just giving my comments and suggestions on god itself, i myself believe in christ myself even though im not christian in which im a buddist. I still believe in chirst as im 15, live in sigapore and my cca( which is my co-ciculative activiites) is boy brigade..i find that god itself is a "real thing" which is a religion gd to believe. I guess my own explaination is quite hard to be understand but i still have to say it out. Jesus chirst really had an effect on mi. It made mi noe many things around the world and the miracles happening in the world that the son of god has done to help the people in need. He himself sacrificed himself to help the people in which is noble. Though i say tt christ is doesnt mean tt i mean other religions god are bad. They are good as well, different people believes in diff things and we all do respect tt. Well, i guess for now i really want to learn more abt god itself from the church pastor himself..and bring myself to chirst. TTs all i have to say..bye everyone

Prayer Appeal I would like to request for prayers to be addressed to my specific condition - Stress Disorder.
Apparently, Long term exposure to Stress has led to me being diagnosed with Stress disorder whereby i get irritated at loud noises and shows an out of bounds MRI scan pattern, I am due for another CT scan on brain.
Mood Fluctuates wildly leading to disorganised thoughts can be traced to a specific spot in the brain that is not supposed to be there.

    Dear Father God
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to live well in a pre stroke condition , for the diagnosis before any thing happened.
Lord you in your almighty power , remove all traces of the spot and the corresponding pain in the head. May your healing power come onto me and i shall wake up afresh in your power.
In jesus name i pray. amen.
