Prayer Appeal Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Let us not forget the people out there in the lost. Active persecution of Christians takes place in: Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, North Korea, Laos, Vietnam, China, Iran, Morocco, Libya, Egypt and Algeria. There are about 1 billion people in the world who have never heard the name of Jesus even once.

Help Needed! SPEC has asked to pass the word around as not many people are aware of this. There is a 14 day WSTP training course, worth $1,680 at a cost of $20(registration fee), available, to help those affected to cope with the transition. The programme is funded by MOM. What are signs that a church is becoming secular?

Expressions Found this on the web: www.carm.org/church/secularchurch.htm

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age," (Titus 2:11-12).

What does a secular church look like? Would it be easy to find one? Would we know one if we saw one? Then again, maybe you attend a secular church and don't know it. It is certainly possible, but how would you know? How would you recognize a church that is more secular than sacred?

    CHURCH BUILDING NECESSARY ?
    Thursday, 04 September 2003 @ 05:01 PM SGT

Expressions Not too long ago, I thought I read about staff working in a para-church organisation not getting salaries for the past 3 months and recently I read about the same organisation committing to a new building worth millions of dollars.

Are we Singaporeans asset-crazy - even for church buildings ? Can we not look at other alternatives such as leases or sharing of resources and free up money for the Disadvantaged in our community ? (Any church that preaches the necessity of tithing (quoting the Old Testament) must also mention the historical use of tithes as stipulated in the Old Testament.)

With real estate still ridiculously high, why are Christian organisations and churches still committing to purchase and build bigger buildings knowing that the utilisation of the building is extremely low.
