Expressions When Moses went up to the mountain to receive from God the ten commandments, the Presence of God in his life increased. Moses' face shorn like never before because of the time he spend in obeying and in the very Presence of God.

We need to be like Moses who took time to obey and spend time in God's Presence so that we can have a powerful ministry like Moses. For God was with him in whatever he did.

    1. God's Presence in our lives can be lesser or more. In other words, the Presence of God in our lives can be increased or decreased. Why is it so? The Presence of God is linked to the measure of the power and the Spirit of God in us. When we sin, the Spirit of God and the Power of God in us will not participate in our sins. Therefore, when we do things in our flesh rather than in the Spirit, God will also not participate. God's Presence in us will then decrease. It is vice-versa.

    2. Spending time with God. Moses spent a lot of time with God in prayer and worship. He carried the Presence of God wherever he goes because God was with Him.

    3. Listen and obey. God will release His Spirit thru our lives when we listen correctly and obey His Word in our lives.

    Principles for hearing from God
    Sunday, 22 January 2006 @ 05:24 PM SGT

Expressions There is a difference in the way God speaks to believers and to the non-believers. To the believers, God speaks to them mostly through His Spirit, but to those who do not know Him, He speaks to them through things, situations and through His people.

We see that when King Nebuchadnezzar received a dream from God, he does not know what God was trying to tell Him. The king does not have the Spirit of God to give him the interpretation nor its meaning. The wise men of his kingdom can't do it either. God has to use a believer (Daniel) to speak to a non-believer (King Nebuchadnezzar).

The reason why many Christians hardly hear from God is because they hardly spend time with God. To clearly hear from God, we have to:
    1. Make a distinction between the flesh and the spirit in our lives.
    2. We must constantly walk in the Spirit.
    3. Rely not on our own understanding, but rely on God to give you His understanding and counsel.
    4. Ask God for discernment to differentiate the voice of the Spirit and the voice of the world or of the flesh.
    5. Pray in faith and wait for God to answer our prayers.

Christians need to clearly hear from God so that they wouldn't make foolish mistakes in life. It is important that we lean towards the Spirit of God for answers and directions than our own reasonings and intellect.

    Jesus loves you!

    Power and consecration

Expressions In view of the uprising of power ministries, there will also be a demand for consecration.

'And the Angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, 'Indeed now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son. Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean. For behold, you shall conceive a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.' Judge 13 : 3 - 5

'Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, 'If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.' But He answered and said,'It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' Matthew 4 : 3 & 4

We see here in these two passages that before we can operate in the power of God, there will need to have consecration of our lives as well. Jesus did that by rejecting temptation and Samson was consecrated by God so that he can operate in the power of God to deliver Isreal.

Many of us want the power of God but does not want to pay the price for it. The power of God is not only for the evangelists, prophets, preachers or pastors, it is for ALL BELIEVERS. The Spirit of God lives inside every one of us and the Spirit of God is not only gentle and loving but also powerful and conquering in His nature, because God is just the same. It is His Spirit. If God is so powerful, how can God who lives inside us be so weak in our personal lives. The Presence of God in us is weaken by our desecrated lives. We give way the Presence of God in our lives for our selfish desires. When what we do and enjoy is not of God, how can God abide with us?

Let us be like Jesus who resist temptation, overcame the flesh and subdue nations by His power.

    Jesus loves you!

    Children's charity in need...

    Help Needed! Dear Sir/Madam,

I represent a children's charity, Club Rainbow (Singapore).

I believe that you will be more than willing to help us given the opportunity to understand more about Club Rainbow.

Just to provide a little background on Club Rainbow:
We are currently supporting over 400 children. These Rainbow children, who are all of age 20 years and below, frequent hospitals for long term treatment, complicated therapy and medications.

Some of the diseases and conditions they suffer from include Thalassaemia Major (inheritable, chronic blood disorder), Biliary Atresia (an illness characterised by the absence of bile ducts), Congenital Heart Diseases and Spina Bifida (spine and spinal cord disease sometimes resulting in paralysis and incontinence) and Very Low Birth Weight Premature Babies.

Club Rainbow has been around for 14 years. We are trying our best to raise funds in order to build a one-stop centre (which we currently could not afford to have) for these children instead of having to put them up in hospitals. With the help of yours and others, I believe that we can make this happen and create a better life for the children.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get back to me through e-mail or contact me directly on my mobile.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Az-Zahari (Mobile no. : 98804347)

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God ... Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us."

Expressions Jesus said that in the last days, men will be unholy, hateful, selfish, brutal....
There will be a time of an increase in sin and unrighteousness. I believe the 'last days' our Lord Jesus Christ was referring is already manifesting now in our time.

The Presence of the Holy Spirit

Expressions The Holy Spirit, the most neglected Person in the Trinity is a Person. He is the Spirit of God and He is God. He has a mind of God and He represents God on earth. I believe many churches and Christians neglect the Holy Spirit very often in their ministries and worship services. Remember, without the Holy Spirit, ALL of us can't come before God because of our sinfulness. The Holy Spirit purifies us and set our hearts right with God so that we can come close to God.

Walking with God in your secret places
    Tuesday, 03 January 2006 @ 06:49 PM SGT

Expressions The Christian life does not encircle around the attending of church, the involvement of service, the outward appearance of faith, but more importantly, it is the walking with God and obedience to Him in our secret places.

'Do not be like the hypocrites who pray aloud in the open square to be seen by others...'

Many people like to be seen by others as 'good Christians' or good men and women of God', but inside their own personal life, they are otherwise. This is what I call, a wolf in sheep clothings. With unrepented sins and disobedience in their lives, they are honoured by men because of their works. However, when they speak or behave, you start smelling the 'wolf' in their hearts. Their services to God will also be an abomination to Him. For serving God while living in disobedience to Him, even their offerrings, will be detestable.

Let us awake unto righteousness and truly spend quality and quantity time in the Presence of God. Jesus loves you!

The relationship between the Church and the world

Expressions 'Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?'
    2 Cor. 6 : 14

The present church believes that in order to reach out the world for Christ, we must be like the world. However, the Word of God makes no statement about that. We have to check our own motives and set our desires alright, for in many cases, we manipulated God's Word to excuse us for our own desires. Many wanting to enjoy the pleasures of the world used reaching the lost for Christ as a reason for conforming to the world. Thus, the Christian and the world has no difference and we can then easily reach out to them. We do not want to be different from the world for fear of rejection by the world.

The Ephesus Church - The lost of first love

Expressions As I was praying, I felt the spiritual condition of the present church is the lost of their first love. Of course, there are other failures in our Church as well, but this is one of them that applies to many of us.

'These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 'I know your works , your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars, and you have perserved and have patience, and have labored for My Name's sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works...' Rev. 2 : 1-5a
