There are many important decisions we need to make in life. Some of those will cost our future, a precious relationship and even our own lives. The most intelligent person in the world is also prompt to making a wrong decision.

Judge by what we discern rather than what we see.

When God wanted to look for another King for Isreal, He told Prophet Samuel to anoint someone from the sons of Jesse. Samuel thought that Eliab, the eldest son who had the built of being a king was the one God has chosen. However, God said, '....Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.' It is clear that God sees into the spirit rather than the appearance.

    Pray and wait.

As we walk with God, we realise that God reveals things a little at a time. He seldom and usually does not reveal His plans and purpose all at a time to us. He was leading and guiding us step by step to build our faith. In most cases, we are to wait for God to reveal and lead us before we make a decision or do a thing. This seem to be a very difficult thing for most people, when we are trained to make decisions and do things fast. However, in certain cases, God wants us to wait and pray. Overloading ourselves with the daily affairs of life lead us nearer to the pattern of the example of Martha, who cares the work more than Jesus Himself. We sometimes do that, we care the work more than the provider.

    God's timing

When we have do the neccessary to flow with the Spirit of God, the time will come for us to reap the fruits from God. The blessings and results that follow after our obedience to obey His leading is tremendous. It will be more than what we can think of or imagine. God will multiple and bless us when we choose and decide to discern, pray, wait and obey the Spirit.

    God bless!

    The call to worship

Expressions Let us take a fresh look at worship. In many traditional churches, worship is just a part of their 'programme' for their traditions. However, we realise that worship is beginning to come out as part of the church to the core of the church. The heart of the church should be worship.

Many have mentioned that the heart of the church should be the great commission, in other words, evangelism and missions. However, the greatest commandmant for us is not the go and make disciples, but to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength. It was only before the Lord Jesus went back to heaven that He called the church for the great commission. Jesus had meant for us to love God and do the works of God (the great commission).

Christians need to find the balance between loving God and serving God. We must never put service to God before loving Him. If we do that, our service to Him will be a shallow one, without deep love and compassion. However, if we put our love for God first before our service to Him, He will cause us to abound even further, in fruits of the Spirit and in our labour.

    God loves you!

    The call of revival

Expressions God promised the outpouring of His Spirit in the last days. That means to say that, God's Spirit will be more evident in the last days. We will see more and more people, prophesying, sharing their vision, performing healing and miracles etc. When we see these things happening more and more, we can say that the Lord is coming soon and that His work is being increased so that more people will know Him and that His church will be ready for His coming.

Revival is the manifestation of God's Spirit to bring His people back to Him again and to cause us to be on fire for Him once again. God is not satisfied by our half-heartedness towards Him and people, neither is He satisfied with our lukewarmness. We may think we are spiritual but God wants to bring us to the fullness of His Spirit: The place of power and spiritual revival. Only when we are full of God's Spirit and power, can we then manifest the fullness of His Presence and glory. God wants us to be more like Him.

Remember Stephen who was just a person serving the tables in the book of Acts? The Word of God tells us that Stephen, who was neither an apostle or leader in the house of God, performed great signs and wonders among God's people. He was full of faith and power (Acts 6 : 8).

Let us be reminded that God wants ALL of His children to be in the state of spiritual revival and power. However, revival does not start from having the power, but from a broken and contrite heart.

    Jesus loves you!

    Finding the right church

Expressions Last year, when I was praying to God for a church to settle down, He gave me the peace for a particular church. I went there and felt I fitted just nice in that church. I was at where God wants me to be. I was at where God wants me to serve Him.

    1. Not my will be done - Many at times we serve God by doing our own will. In other words, we are actually serving ourselves, we are making a ministry or future by ourselves. We hardly stepped into knowing and doing God's perfect Will for us. To know God's perfect Will for us, we can't find it in the bible, we have to find it from God Himself. Praying, fasting and seeking God for life's direction.

    2. But God didn't say no! - Many of us have entered into God's permissive will and not knowing it. When we fail to seek God for direction, we will enter into God's permissive will. When we repeated allow this to happen, it is the beginning of our backslidden condition. Our conscience will gradually be sealed to do our own will.

    3. Love what God loves, hate what God hates - It is a sin to rejoice in evil and to rejoice at another's failure or mistake. We must allow God to break us and mourn our hearts so that we will love what He loves and hate what He hates. We need to repent of every desires that are not of God.

    4. Waiting - Waiting on God is very tiring and most of the time discouraging. However, when God's timing has come to perfection for us, His Word spoken to us when we are waiting for Him will definitely be established by Him.

Let us be patient and follow God's leading.

The new wine and the new wineskin

Expressions 'Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.'
    Matt. 9 : 17

The abovementioned verse were spoken by our Lord Jesus Himself. He was answering the disciples of John in regards to their question posted to Jesus. He was using the abovementioned verse to tell them the difference between the pharisees, John's disciples and His disciples. Over here, Jesus described His disciples as the new wineskin and the new wine as the Spirit of God.

We know that the Pharisees and John's disciples were of the 'older generation' when Jesus came by. Therefore, John the Baptist asked, 'Are You the One, or do we wait for another?' Certainly John's ministry was accomplished when Jesus started His ministry. The old wineskin cannot contain the new wine. Neither can the Pharisees and John's disciples who were caught up with rules and regulations comprehend Jesus's teaching and actions. For John's disciples asked Jesus why they and the Pharisees fasted often but His disciples don't. Certainly, they blindly followed their beliefs.

In this last days, I believe the Lord has His 'new wineskin' and He will pour out His 'new wine' into His new wineskin. The new wineskin containing the new wine will accomplish God's new purposes and moves.

Relating it to our present time, the 'new wine' is the new outpouring of His Spirit, a fresh and new anointing. Remember Jesus said the He will pour out His Spirit in the those days and those days will also be days of the outpouring of His Spirit.
    (Joel 2 : 28)

While God's 'new wine' needs new wineskins to contain it, I believe a fresh new generation will be set apart by God for this outpouring. If we are willing, we can be the one.

    Jesus loves you!

He must increase, and I must decrease.

Expressions Ministry to many are a specific calling given by God. People tend to run their church or ministry like a business of their own. The 'I am in control' mentality has surged into many of our hearts and minds. Therefore, leaders tend to do things on their own without God's Presence or direction. They did things, their way.

John the Baptist, upon seeing Jesus made the abovementioned statement. He said, 'He must increase and I must decrease.' John's attitude was not one of safe-guarding his own ministry. He did not feel threatened when Jesus came after Him. He submitted himself to someone who is greater than himself.

We need to have the same attitude like John the Baptist in order to work together. When God starts to raise someone who is better than us, we should not feel threatened or jealous about it. Instead, we ought to help the brother or sister in Christ to fulfill his or her role in the Body of Christ.

Our ministry is not our own. We ought to submit ourselves to the Lord in regards to our ministry. When God told Abraham to sacrifice his son Issac, Abraham instantly obeyed. Abraham did not say, 'God, you cannot do this, for he is my son.' We also ought to follow Abraham's example of faith and obedience, to even allow God to intervene and lead us in every aspects of our influence and control.

    The Spirit will arise

Expressions 'O Lord , revive us once again, that Your people may rejoice in You.' Psalm

'Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.'

We read in the Word of God that the Spirit of God moves together with the Word of God (Genesis 1). When God created the universe, His Spirit accompanied His Command(Word) to accomplish those things.

Similar, Christians also have the Spirit of God inside us. The Word of God also tells us to hide His Word inside our hearts (Psalm 119). It is thru God's Word and Spirit that miracles are performed and healings took place. Men is not the author of miracles or healing.

I sensed that God wants a greater manifestation of His Spirit in this last days. We have seen a lot from men, the works of men. However, God wants us to see more of Him. In order, for us to focus on God rather then on men, God needs to arise in our midst. He will not literally show up personally in our midst, but His Spirit will move according to His Word.

We read that the Word of God says that, Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord. The might, refers to the strength of men. The power, was not refering to the Power of the Holy Spirit, but the authorities of the world. God is saying in this last days, My Spirit will come first and people will see more of Him rather than of us.

    God bless you!

    Dying Well

Expressions We will all die one day. That is one of the few things we can be sure of. But will we die well? That is less certain. Dying well means dying for others, making our lives fruitful for those we leave behind. The big question, therefore, is not "What can I still do in the years I have left to live?" but "How can I prepare myself for my death so that my life can continue to bear fruit in the generations that will follow me?"

Jesus died well because through dying he sent his Spirit of Love to his friends, who with that Holy Spirit could live better lives. Can we also send the Spirit of Love to our friends when we leave them? Or are we too worried about what we can still do? Dying can become our greatest gift if we prepare ourselves to die well. (HN)

    When God strengthens our faith

Expressions At this present time when many Christian's faith are being tested, through financial struggles, family problems, job problems and relationship problems, we are being placed into situations whereby our faith in God will either be strengthen or weakened.

    By faith, Abraham believed...
    By faith, Noah acted...

May I encourage you that no matter what situations or problems we are facing, it is an opportunity for our faith to be increased and strengthen. You will realised that faith need to be tested.
How does our faith in God being tested?
Thru situations and problems of our life.
'All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.'
When we read the bible, it helps to build our faith, but our faith will never be tested by just reading the bible. God is real and therefore our faith in Him needs to be real as well. God who is sovereign will use situations or circumstances to make our faith a reality rather than just an intellectual knowledge.
So, do not be discourage when trials and tribulations fall upon us as though some strange things happen to us... Take courage and persevere...
